People go to extreme measures to imitate their favorite Pop culture characters... And Harry Potter fans are no different. Other then the cheesy costumes and accents, some fans even adopted pet owls after seeing the movies or reading the books. But now with the series being old news, fans have lost their interest for their feathered friends and released them into the wild - apparently anywhere in the UK. After the influx of birds, it was possible that the predatory birds could have damaging effects on local ecosystems and other bird populations. So, rescue organizations are collecting the birds that flooded the UK...It's also not only the birds that are paying the price; anyone caught releasing an owl into the wild can face up to 6 months in jail and a fine of over $7,000.
