Pet Owls & Harry Potter Fans...

People go to extreme measures to imitate their favorite Pop culture characters... And Harry Potter fans are no different. Other then the cheesy costumes and accents, some fans even adopted pet owls after seeing the movies or reading the books. But now with the series being old news, fans have lost their interest for their feathered friends and released them into the wild - apparently anywhere in the UK. After the influx of birds, it was possible that the predatory birds could have damaging effects on local ecosystems and other bird populations. So, rescue organizations are collecting the birds that flooded the UK...It's also not only the birds that are paying the price; anyone caught releasing an owl into the wild can face up to 6 months in jail and a fine of over $7,000. Potter fans who no longer want or aren't able to keep they bird friends are taking birds to a wildlife sanctuary, rather the letting them "accidently" fly out the window.

Avengers Is a Hit

The Avengers smashed up the domestic revenue record with a $200.3 million debut. It's by far the biggest opening ever. Shooting past the previous record of $169.2 million for the debut of last year's "Harry Potter" finale. "The Avengers" added $151.5 million overseas over the weekend to bring its total to $441.5 million since it began opening internationally a week earlier. If distributor Disney's domestic estimate Sunday holds when the final weekend count is released Monday, "The Avengers" would be the first movie ever to haul in $200 million in a single weekend.

Horrific Dentist Appoinment

Word of advice: Don't date your dentist. A Polish woman is facing three years in prison after she removed all of her ex-boyfriend's teeth during dental surgery just days after their breakup.

"I tried to be professional and detach myself from my emotions," Anna Mackowiak, 34, told the Austrian Times. "But when I saw him lying there I just thought, "What a bastard' and decided to take all his teeth out.

Marek Olszewski, 45, showed up at the dentist office complaining of a toothache just days after he broke up with her. She then gave him a "heavy dose" of anesthetic, locked the door and began to remove all of his teeth, one at a time.

"I know something was wrong because when I woke up I couldn't feel any teeth and my jaw was strapped up with bandages," Olszewski said. "She told me my mouth was numb and I wouldn't be able to feel anything for a while and that the bandage was there to protect the gums, but that I would need to see a specialist," he said. "I didn't have any reason to doubt her, I meant I thought she was a professional."

Adding to his unfortunate and cruel situation, Olszewski said his new girlfriend had already left over his now toothless appearance.

"And I'm going to have to pay a fortune on getting indents or something," he said.

Careful who you date!

Feel Watched?

Ever feel like you're being spied on? Well, ya probably are! According to a computer security company, 61% of parental units in the U.S. secretly spy on their children via Facebook. Study shows that moms and dads in the U.S. are becoming much more aware of their kids' online presence. Approximately 72% of parents are "friends" with their teenagers, and 6 out of 10 admit to spying on their kids without them knowing. Going further on that, 44% of parents admit to secretly accessing their teen's account. Although, they have reasons for their creeping. Turns out that some parents have good reason to worry - 21%of parents have found abusive or explicit messages on their teen's social profile. Another 14% found similar messages on their teen's phone... So be careful teens! Unless what you're doing is illegal. Than you deserve it I guess.

Boy at School says his Mom and Sister are dead at home

In Las Vegas on Monday, a 9-year old boy arrived at school with a horrific story. His mom and 10-year old sister were dead at their home, 4 blocks away. Minutes later after he told, police rushed to his house. Finding an unharmed 4-year old boy along with a blood-covered father. The man had a head injury and wasn't immediately thought to be a suspect or charged. Police currently can't identify how or by who the slayings occurred. Police officer Jacinto Rivera said there was no immediate evidence of a break-in at the home or that a suspect was on the loose. Officials said the boy was not harmed when he arrived at school. There is currently no lead on who caused this. Kids were reminded that school is a safe place with caring adults who can help in iffy situations.
